Privacy
A short policy, because there is nothing to collect.
In short
ab429 apps collect no personal data. No accounts, no sign-up, no server, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking. Nothing you type or say leaves your device.
Sufler
Sufler listens to the microphone to work out which words of the script have already been spoken. Speech recognition is performed by the operating system on the device itself.
Audio is never stored: it becomes words and is discarded immediately. No voice recording is created.
- Microphone — to hear how far you have read.
- Speech recognition — to turn what it hears into words, on the device.
- Both are requested with an explanation, and the app keeps working without them: the text scrolls by time instead.
What is stored, and where
Scripts, settings and take history live in the app's own folder on your device. We have no access to them. Take history is kept for 30 days and clears itself.
Delete the app and all of it goes at once. There are no backups on our side, because there is no our side.
Network
The iPhone version of Sufler makes no network requests at all. The easiest way to check is to do it yourself: turn on airplane mode, and the app works exactly as before.
The macOS version goes online in one case only: when you ask it to download an improved recognition model. The model file is fetched, and nothing else is sent.
Children
The app is not directed at children, but it collects no data about anyone — adults or children alike.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version appears on this page with a new date. We do not rewrite it retroactively.
